Performers
Jessica Carmen is a Cuban American soprano, singer-songwriter and actor based in Ossining, NY. She studied opera at the New England Conservatory of Music and the University of Kentucky where she received her BA in Music. She's performed in productions with The Bronx Opera, Gretna Theater, Broward Stage Door and others throughout NYC. Primarily an actress, she's also appeared in commercial campaigns for Optum, NJ Lottery, Fidelis Care and Lendio Loans. She studied acting and improv at ESPA, Barrow Group and UCB and currently studies voice with Susan Eichorn-Young. She spends most of her days volunteering with the PTA, making up silly songs and performing theatrical readalouds to her two creative, sweet and delightful little monsters. Stephanie Granade is a soprano and actor based in Ossining, NY. For over two decades, Stephanie has been performing on musical theatre, opera stages and film sets throughout the country. She has performed in productions with Irish Repertory Theatre, North Shore Music Theatre, Boston Lyric Stage Company, Greater Boston Stage Company, and MacHayden Theatre. She also performed with Boston Opera, Festival dell’Opera in Rome, Italy and with the International Festival of Spanish Art Song. She is now raising her 5 year-old son and teaching theater to the next generation of story-tellers. Performing and collaborating with other artists is her greatest passion aside from her family and friends.
Bárbara Martínez grew up performing in New York City. She hails from a musical family that includes movie icon Libertad Lamarque. For over 20 years, she has worked as a dancer and singer with several professional flamenco dance companies and world music ensembles, as well as the Metropolitan Opera. A graduate of Brown University and Berklee College of Music, Barbara’s solo career began with a sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall in 2010. Today she can be seen in “TrashBata”, a one-woman dance theater performance that brings together flamenco and environmental activism, and she can also be seen performing with ALBA MUSIK, a project that features her compositions and which has been in consideration for a GRAMMY three years in a row. Nina Pajak is a writer who lives in Tarrytown, NY. She’s famously extremely busy with any number of very time-consuming and important occupations, including being a mom to her two kids and one dog, fundraising on behalf of the Tarrytown School District, making lists of things to do, napping, gadding about town, staring blankly into the middle distance, and planning events. She is at work on her first novel, a murder mystery, and occasionally posts her essays on her substack, Overthought. Giverny Petitmermert is an actor/director/producer/educator and mother to an amazing 4 year old boy. She received her BFA in Acting with a minor in Art History from Boston University and studied theatre at both the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) and the British American Dramatics Academy (BADA). She worked as an actor in New York City for well over a decade before moving to Westchester in 2018. Giverny is the Artistic Director of The New Collectives, a founding member of BREAD Arts Collective, and the Producing Director of The Sleepy Hollow Arts Collective (SHAC). She taught art and drama at Transfiguration School in Tarrytown. She is currently a teaching artist with Theater O in Ossining and Children's Shakespeare Theatre in Nyack.
Allie Scherich is a mama of three, an actor, an educator, and a Registered Nurse. Her performing career spans 25 years and has taken her all over the country, as well as on the high seas with Disney Cruise Line. An experienced educator and director/choreographer, Allie has held leadership positions at children's theater organizations across the country, has worked with young performers while on the staff of multiple Broadway productions/tours, and currently works as a Disney On Broadway Teaching Artist. In our community, you may find Allie directing youth and inclusive community productions at the Shames JCC or at the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns. Inspired by the need to feel helpful in a time of crisis, Allie attended nursing school during the pandemic and, as a labor and delivery nurse, has helped over 250 women become mamas! Allie lives in Sleepy Hollow, NY with her husband, her 14 year-old twin boys, and her 8 year-old daughter.
Katie Tanski is thrilled to be joining this beautiful group of talented (and local!) women. Rebecca Thomas is a Flamenco dancer, choreographer, arts educator, and the artistic director of A Palo Seco Flamenco Company. She began her formal dance training in Spain, studying in Granada, Sevilla, and Madrid. In 2006 she settled in New York City in 2006 and began performing with companies such as Noche Flamenca and Flamenco Vivo. She founded A Palo Seco Company in 2010, for which she continues to choreograph and direct. Rebecca has performed throughout the U.S. at venues such as NY SummerStage, the Chicago Flamenco Festival, Eastman School of Music, the Pocantico Center, New Victory Theater, Joyce Theater, and the Hollywood Bowl. For her choreographic work, Rebecca has received support from Arts Westchester, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Jerome Foundation, the CUNY Dance Initiative, and she is a three-time recipient of the NYFA Fellowship in Choreography. She is a firm believer in Arts-Education and conducts workshops, residencies, and Lecture Demonstrations to students of all ages and backgrounds throughout the country. Mother of two, Rebecca is a resident of Tarrytown and loves being involved in any and all community happenings.
